The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that 425 Emirati citizens enrolled in Nafis’ National Healthcare Programme have secured employment in the private healthcare sector.

Efforts are ongoing to employ an additional 1,600 UAE citizens currently enrolled in the programme. MoHRE, in collaboration with Nafis, introduced the Studying Citizen Employment Contract to facilitate this process. Under the contract, enrolled students receive company sponsorship and a minimum salary of AED4,000 through the Wage Protection System (WPS).

Students must be registered in an authorised pension fund and receive financial rewards from Nafis based on their academic performance. Upon graduation, they are guaranteed employment by the sponsoring company, with further financial support from Nafis according to their qualifications. Notably, these student employees contribute towards the company’s Emiratisation targets.

In a press statement, MoHRE highlighted the success of these contracts, emphasizing the high engagement rates among young Emiratis with Nafis-supported programmes, particularly the National Healthcare Programme. The ministry commended the private sector for its role in training, empowering, and employing Emirati professionals, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.

Among the private healthcare institutions participating in this initiative are Mediclinic Hospitals and Clinics, NMC Royal Hospital, Burjeel Hospitals, Health and Medical Services (HMS) Group, and the International Modern Hospital. The ministry applauded these institutions for their commitment to integrating UAE nationals into the workforce.

This initiative reflects the strong partnership between MoHRE, Nafis, and the private sector in promoting Emiratisation and supporting the professional development of Emirati citizens.
